Two day Roadtrip to Araku Valley – Lambasingi – Araku Balloon Festival
Best time to visit Araku Valley:
Even though Araku Valley is a famous as a cool destination to escape the heat of summer (some times as high as 50°C) in Andhra Pradesh , there are reasons to visit the same in January as well . First reason being, the weather will be magical , especially in the morning with the whole Valley looks like it drenched in white fog . Every object looks like they painted on a white board , with fog providing the cool white background.
Second reason is the Araku Balloon Festival which generally happens in this time. The view of the Valley is further enhanced with floating hot air balloons. We can even experience view of Valley from the flying in a Hot Air Balloon.
Lambasingi – Andhra Kashmir:
Lambasingi is famously called as Andhra Kashmir/Ooty for its cool weather . Its a small village in Andhra Pradesh , around 100kms far from Visakhapatnam. Temperature here drops to as low as -2 °C here in winter some years. There is a popular legend about the snow fall here but when I spoke to people here it seemed as a legend only . I haven’t seen any one who witnessed the snow fall here. Having said that not having a snow fall didn’t deprecate the natural beauty of the village in any way. What we witness here for sure is a think white fog in the early mornings with lot of greenery .
Travelogue :
Day 2 Started with early morning visit to Lambasingi which is 90kms far from Araku Valley.
After spending the fog filled morning in Lanbasingi we went to visit Kothapalli Waterfalls which is 40kms away from there. Unlike other water falls where it’s difficult to reach the bottom of the falls, here there are proper steps provided to reach the bottom of the water falls.
We spent some time there and started back to Araku Valley.
After lunch we went to see the Araku Balloon Festival .The Balloon flights are available in multiple places and we went to the place where its close to the nature . We spent some the witnessing the flight of the Balloons in the nature.
