Travelling through Western Ghats
After passing through the Hoysala empire we joined back to the NH75 at Bhage near Sakleshpur around 3 P.M ,The Ghats from Bhage to Gundya via Sakleshpur are very scenic but the road condition is very bad . One of my friend who visited the place told the roads were under construction for widening them when he visited 2-3 years before but I still see in many places the road widening work is stuck may be at the same state as my friend’s journey, also the road which was used for his journey was considerably deteriorated .So we need to consider the road condition while planning the time for the journey .Even though the distance is less than 50kms from Bhage to Gundya , it took around 2 hours to cover the stretch .
After crossing Gundya we left the NH75 again to reach Kukke for night stay. The road to Kukke is single road but very scenic and reasonably good condition. We reached the Hotel that we booked around 5:30 for night stay.We went to the Subrahmanya temple, had darshan, returned back to the stay and called it a day…
Day 2 started with visiting Kumara Dhara river and went to the Adi Subrahmanyam temple for darshan and started the journey towards Mangalore. On the way we visited Dharmasthala and Sri Rama Kshethra and had lunch break there.
After that we left the western ghats and started Touring Costal Karnataka
